In need of funds to enable the
continued pursuit of a career in the financial services field.
Committed to meaningfully improving
the lives of those in our community who may be underserved by our profession as
a result of their limited financial resources.
A United States citizen or legal
resident living in, or attending school in NC.
A full or part-time student in
their third year of study of a university or undergraduate college or final
year of a community college program with a demonstrated ability to complete the

family members of the Greensboro SFSP and/or the Greensboro SFSP Foundation are
What will be awarded?
Scholarship(s) in the
amount of $1,000 with a one-year student or associate membership in the Greensboro
Chapter may be awarded for the upcoming year. The cash award(s) will be paid
directly to the educational institution or provided to the recipient after
verifying the monies are a reimbursement for previously paid tuition.
The number of scholarships
awarded in a given year is at the discretion of the Greensboro SFSP Foundation
based on available funds, the extent to which candidates meet eligibility
requirements and the number of applications received. Based on these criteria,
multiple, one or no scholarships may be awarded in a given year.
Additional awards of a one-year
student or associate membership in the Greensboro Chapter for the upcoming year
may also be made available for strong, eligible candidates not awarded the full
scholarship due to limited scholarship funds available.
How do I apply?
To apply, you must
complete an application and write a short essay of 1,000 words or less
including the following:
Describe what led or motivated you
to pursue an education in the financial services field, including where you
might see yourself in the future.
Communicate why the scholarship is
important to you, demonstrating a clear financial need for funds to aid in the
pursuit of a career in the financial services field.
Provide specific examples of a
commitment to meaningfully improving the lives of those in our community who
may be underserved by our profession as a result of their limited financial
means, including why this is important to you.
As part of the application
process, applicants must agree to a brief phone interview by a member of the
Foundation Committee, should that be deemed beneficial.
When is the application
Applications will be
available annually as of January 15th and can be submitted between
February 1 and 11:59pm on April 30th.
How will I be notified?
All applicants will be
notified of their status via email no later than June 15th.
Acceptance of the scholarship must be communicated by July 1st.
When will the
scholarship be paid?
- The scholarship will be
paid after July 1st. The award will be made directly to the student's account at their college.
- Paid applications for
membership in the Greensboro Chapter of the SFSP will be effective July 1, and
must be completed by the winners of the award prior to that date.
