Scholarship Award:
1.
Scholarship(s) up to
$1,000
2.
Recipients are
eligible to apply the following year
Eligibility Requirements:
1.
Must be a junior or senior in a 4-year degree program,
or in the final year of a community college program, for the year awarded.
2.
A GPA of 2.5 or higher.
3.
A United States Citizen or legal resident living in
North Carolina and pursuing a course of study at a North Carolina college or
university that could lead to a career in the financial services field.
4.
Members or immediate family members of the Greensboro
SFSP and/or the Greensboro SFSP Foundation are not eligible.
Application Filing Period:
December 1 to
April 30 each year
Application Process:
Complete an
application and write a short essay of 1,000 words or less including the
following:
1.
Describe what led or motivated you to pursue an
education in the financial services field, including your future goals.
2.
Communicate why the scholarship is important to you.
3.
Provide specific examples of your community
involvement and how it has enhanced the lives of others through financial
education or in other ways.
4.
Finalists will be
contacted for a phone interview.
Scholarship Award(s):
1.
All applicants will be
notified of their status via email by June 15.
2.
Scholarship recipients
must communicate acceptance by July 1.
Award Recipients:
1.
Scholarship recipients will receive a one-year
associate local membership in the Society of Financial Service Professionals Greensboro Chapter..
2.
The cash award(s) will be
paid directly to the educational institution or provided to the recipient after
verifying the monies are a reimbursement for previously paid tuition.
