Why Gold Belongs in A Well-Balanced Portfolio

Abstract: We will discuss the placement of gold and gold mining stocks in a well-constructed portfolio and why gold in the first place. The discussion will include gold as an alternative asset class. While the intended audience are planners and asset managers, other financial professionals will find it illuminating as they counsel their clients and develop their own investment strategies in this very-long-in-the-tooth bull market.

We will meet in person for breakfast at Starmount. We will also meet in person at Footnote Coffee in Winston-Salem. Our speaker will join us from Boston via Zoom. We hope you can come and share breakfast with us. We will broadcast the meeting via Zoom as well. We need to manage the in-person headcount carefully, so please tell us how you will attend in the registration.

Chris Mancini from Gabelli Funds is an Associate Portfolio Manager on The Gabelli Gold Fund, He joined Gabelli Funds in 2008 as a research analyst specializing in the industrials and materials sectors with a focus on metals and mining. Previously he was a research analyst at Heyman Investments, R6 Capital Management, and Satellite Asset Management. An industry expert, Chris has frequently been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and other industry leading publications. He has also appeared on broadcast news programs. Chris holds a BA in economics from Boston College and is a CFA charterholder.
