Philanthropy: The Importance of Making A Difference

*******URGENT:  VENUE CHANGE********

New location: O.Henry Hotel, Caldwell Room, 624 Green Valley Rd, Greensboro, NC 27408

Starmount Forest Country Club is still without power after Hurricane Michael. Even if they had power restored on Monday morning, there is too much clean up to be done to host our meeting there.

In this course, we’ll explore the past and present intersections of charitable planning, private foundations, and community foundations.  You’ll leave knowing more about the history of community foundations, how and why they differ from private foundations, when they are a good resource for your clients, and why they are a good philanthropic resource for you.  You will also understand more about the whys of charitable deductions and the intricacies of inter vivos and testamentary charitable planning. We will review case studies on what types of charitable trusts work best in different cycles of the financial markets.
