Keith S. Hiatt, CPA is a certified public accountant and partner with the firm Breslow Starling Frost Warner Boger Hiatt PLLC in Greensboro, North Carolina. He has over 30 years of experience in the areas of corporate and individual taxation, with a special emphasis on tax, estate, retirement and financial planning for individuals and owners of closely held businesses.

Keith has a passion for helping individuals and businesses save taxes.  He emphasizes the need for tax planning before tax preparation. He assists clients with an "annual financial checkup" as a critical step to stronger financial health.

His experience includes assisting foreign nationals working in the U.S. and U.S. citizens working overseas. Much of this international experience began with his employment with Deloitte, a large international accounting firm (where he was employed for 11 years).

Keith is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Greensboro Estate Planning Council and the Greensboro Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. He has served as president of these two latter organizations. He has attained the Accredited Estate Planner designation from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils.

Keith received his Bachelors of Science and Masters in Accountancy degrees from Brigham Young University.

Sandy Shelton, CPA

Sandy Shelton is a practicing Certified Public Accountant with Sandy Shelton PLLC.  She consults with business owners in all areas of service from financial advice to tax assistance and preparation.   Sandy also practices before the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies, loving the challenge of squaring off with revenue officers and agents.

Real estate is also in her repertoire. In addition to practicing as a CPA, Sandy owns several rental properties herself.  Being a landlord and a CPA has put her in a unique position of understanding how the real estate world works, both from an ownership position as well as from an adviser perspective.

Sandy secured her CPA license in 1988 and formed her first CPA firm in 1990, gradually transferring ownership beginning in 2014.  She formed her current practice this year, working to branch out into public speaking as well.

Prior to practicing as a CPA, Sandy worked at United Guaranty for 12 years.  She is a member of the NCACPA, AICPA and other related organizations such as the Greensboro Chapter of SFSP, Triad REIA, and the Greensboro Landlords Association.  Over the years, she has served on the board of many not for profit organizations , including Industries of the Blind, PT CREW, Preservation Greensboro Revolving fund, most recently going through the chairs of the Greensboro Chapter of SFSP and the Greensboro Foundation of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Thomas D. McGowen, Jr. CPA

Tom is a partner in the CPA firm of Stout Stuart McGowen & King, LLP.  A lifelong Triad resident, he is an Alamance County native and graduate of Wake Forest University. In addition to holding a North Carolina license as a Certified Public Accountant, Tom is also a Certified Financial Planner and holds the Personal Financial Specialist designation from the AICPA.  He is a member of the AICPA and the NCACPA.

Active in the community, Tom currently serves as Treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington, where he is a member of the Session and serves on the Foundation Board.  Tom is a charter board member of The New Leaf Society, has been its Treasurer since inception and is currently helping lead its fundraising campaign for The Burlington Arboretum at Willowbrook Park.  He serves on the Advisory Board of the Love School of Business at Elon University and the BSA Old North State Council Board as Vice-President for Endowment.  He has been active in Scouting where he has been an Assistant Scoutmaster and Alamance District Chair, and is an Eagle Scout (as are his three sons).  He is the recipient of BSA’s Silver Beaver Award and the God and Service Award.  He is past Chair of the Alamance County United Way and the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves as chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Chamber.  He has served as President of the Burlington Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.

The greatest accomplishment of Tom’s life was getting Gail Lindley to agree to marry him, and then partnering with her in raising four wonderful children.  They have now been blessed with eight grandchildren.

When he is not partnering with his clients in navigating tax, accounting and financial planning matters, Tom enjoys reading, exercise, hanging out with his children and grandchildren, and any excuse to get into the woods or go fishing.
